Balasingam Karunakaran, originally from Kalaimagal Road, Kalviyankadu, Jaffna and residing in Bremen, Germany, passed away on Monday, 10th November 2025.

He was the beloved son of the late Balasingam and Sivaneswari, and the loving son-in-law of the late Rajaratnam and Thavamani,

He was the devoted husband of Rajani,

He was the cherished brother of Chandravathana (Sri Lanka), Sreedharan (Canada), Ranjithamalar (Germany), Mokaran (London), Jeyavathana (Sri Lanka), Kirubakaran (Sri Lanka), Rajani (Germany), and Geetha (France).

He was the loving brother-in-law of the late Ravichandran (Sri Lanka), Sumathi (Canada), Udhayakumar (Germany), Subashini (London), Bhaskaran (Germany), and Rames (France). He was also the dear brother-in-law of the late Madhivathani, Kritharan (Germany), Santhini (Sri Lanka) and Malini (Germany).

He was the affectionate uncle (close elder) of Sivanesaraja (Sri Lanka), Gomathi (Germany), Sivarasa (Sri Lanka), and Rajasabesan (Germany).
