Mrs. Balasundaram Poopakkiyalaxmy

Mrs. Balasundaram Poopakkiyalaxmy, a native and resident of Ottumadam, Jaffna, passed away and attained the feet of Lord Shiva on Tuesday, 08 July 2025.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Markandu and Annamuthu, the loving daughter-in-law of the late Thiyagarajah and Mangaiyakarasi, and the devoted wife of the late Balasundaram.

She was the dear sister of the late Varatharajah, Thiyagarajah, Selvarajah, Anandarajah, Rasanayagam, Sivapackiyalatchumi, Thanapackiyalatchumi, Rajaranchani, and Jeyaranchani.

She was the cherished mother of Thiyagaseelan (Denmark), Bala Soruubi (London), Bala Murali (Norway), and Bala Sudarsani (Denmark).

She was also the beloved mother-in-law of Udayachandrika, Varathabalan, Dharmasanthini, and Sathishwararajah.

She was the loving grandmother of Sriban, Dilakshan, Simon, Nithursan, Dhileeban, Divyan, Sanjay, Karishan, Nivedhika, and Sharuga.

She was the dear great-grandmother of Ailin and Nega.
