It has been five years since we last heard your voice, Amma.
Where are those loving hands that held us close?
Where is the divine taste of the meals you lovingly prepared?
Where is the warmth of your gentle breath that kissed us?
Where are the tender stories tied together with your affection?
Amma, we opened our eyes to
your smiling face,
But the day your eyes refused to open,
Our world was enveloped in darkness.
We still call out, “Amma, Amma,”
But there is no one to comfort us now.
We pray to the Almighty for your soul to rest in peace.
