Mr. Kandiah Balachandran, born in  Pungudutivu (2nd ward) and a resident of Toronto, Canada, passed away peacefully in Colombo on may 8,2025.

He was the beloved grandson of the late Nagalingam Nagamma and the late Muthukumaru Chinnamma.

He was the cherished son  of  late Kandiah Nagalingam and late Thavamani Kandiah.

He was also the beloved son-in-law of the late Devasagayam Michael and the late Michael Rajalakshmi,

He was the devoted husband of Mary Theresa, 

He was the loving father of Premnath, Premila, Gopinath, and Gloria, and the beloved nephew of the late Dhamotharampillai, the late Ilakuppillai, the late Nagarajah, the late Seethevi,

He was the dear brother of Gowragowri, Ramachandran, the late Udayarani, Inthirani, Vimalachandran, Ravichandran, and Jeyarani,

He was an affectionate father in law to Shirley, Sathees and Ramya, and a treasured grandfather to Tushawn, Tristan, Tessa, Ethan, Alayna, Kaylen, Arya, Jacob and Ayden,

He was also the Beloved elder brother of Sivakumari, Udayakumar, Vijayakumar, and the late Selvakumar,

He was a much-loved Brother-in-law of the late Saravanamuthu, the late Chandrakumari, Akhileswaran, Krishnabavani, Prinitha, Yogarajah, Devasagayam, Nicholas, Asuntha, Kristy, John Bosco, Elizabeth Rani, the late Alphonse, Mary Wasundra, Nadesamoorthy, Sudarsini, Vijayasiri, and Radhika,

He  was also a dear Uncle to Thusyanthan, Kavitha, Ganga, the late Rajeenthan, Anithira, Anojan, Anushiya, Anjutha, Gayanthi, Jasanthan, Nitharsan, Anesta, Amal, Menusha, Mithusha, Adrean, Adreia, Akshitha, and Akshana,

He was a Fond uncle (Periyappa) to Sinthuya, Vakish, Gabish, Tharanya, Kirushiya, Thavaparan, Pivishan, Pithusha, Sathushan, the late Akash, Naveen, Aswini, Sharon, and Dominica,

He was also a cherished relative of Morine, Rupa, the late Ganesh, Rajakumari, and John Ronald,
