Beloved Father,
It has now been five years since you departed from us.

Even though there are thousands of relatives,
none can be called “Father” — for you are no longer in this world.

Like a great banyan tree,
you sheltered and embraced us.
With the wealth of education,
you made us known to the world.

You shone in this world
as both a head of the family
and a mentor in duty.
Your gentle smile still
causes us deep sorrow, dear Appa.

No matter how many months or years may pass,
your memory will never fade from our hearts.

We pray to God for your soul to rest in eternal peace.
