Mrs. Kuganeswary Sivasaranam, who was born in Velanai West Sirpanai, ward 6, resided in Velanai West ward 8, and was living at No. 541/2, Galle Road, Wellawatte, passed away on Friday, 7th November 2025, attaining the feet of Lord Shiva.
She was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kanapathipillai Ponnamma,
and the beloved daughter-in-law of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kandaiya Sundaramma.
She was the beloved wife of the late Kandaiya Sivasaranam.
She was the loving mother of Karunanathan (Germany), the late Kuganathan (Maharaja Foods and G.T.V Enterprises), Gnanashakthi Dayaparan (Vihadan Printers), and Thirunathan (London).
She was the dear mother-in-law of Kalaimani Karunanathan (Germany), Thavamalar Kuganathan, Dayaparan (Retired Court Officer, Vihadan Printers), and Sivakalai Thirunathan (London).
She was the cherished grandmother of Sivagajan (Germany), Sindhujan (Germany), Yatheeshan (Germany), Vijayananth (Maharaja Foods and G.T.V Enterprises), Vithiyanath (Maharaja Foods and G.T.V Enterprises), Gokulnath (London), Attorney Narmatha Kalamohan, Dr. Viswanethiran (Australia), Nivedha Nandakumaran, Sakishna (Solicitor, London), Sruthi (Biomedical Engineer, London), Saraga (Depositary Manager, London), Suvanya Sindhujan (Germany), Lakshana Yatheeshan (Germany), Mithra Vijayananth, Kalamohan (Arunthathee Pvt Ltd), Nirojini Viswanethiran (Law Lecturer, Australia), and Nandakumaran (Associate Engineering Manager, Virtusa Pvt Ltd).
She was the beloved great-grandmother of Vel (Germany), Aathiya, Apsara, Achayan, Nethra (Australia), and Uthira.
She was the loving sister of the late Viswanathan, Rasalakshmi Kanagaratnam, Mohanadas (Sivasakthi Stores, Chettiththeru), and Saraswathi Saravanabhavanandan (Canada).
She was the loving sister of the late Bhagavatsingham
and the beloved sister-in-law of the late Thilagavathy Viswanathan, Kanagaratnam, Rathi Mohanadas, and Saravanabhavanandan,
and the dear sister-in-law of Maheswari Bhagavatsingham.
Her remains will lie in state for final respects at her residence, No. 541/2, Galle Road, Wellawatte, from Saturday, 8th November 2025 until Sunday, 9th November 2025. The funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, followed by cremation at the Borella Hindu Cemetery.
