He was the loving brother of Surendran and Menaka, and brother-in-law of Sumathini and Srithar, He was the dear uncle of Sangari, Prabhakar, Srithar, Suthakar, Vaanisri, Manohar, Maithili, and Meera, He was the cousin of Gunalan, Sukanya, Sukuna, Sivagunalan, Karthika, and Jeyendran, He was the beloved uncle (Periyappa) of Arani, Arunan, Gowsigan, Jothini, Jeevakan, Sangavi, Sivasan, Vakeesan, Seyon, Saumiya, Mayura, and Vishwa, He was the dear grand uncle (Periya Maama) of Pranavan, Abayan, Aarabi, Yaathavi, Aathavan, Bharghavi, Adithan, Sarangan, Suvethan, Saaruthi, Kavishnan, and Kathirsan.
