A 31st day memorial service and thanksgiving to Lurthamma Karunathirasa, who was born in Vasavilan, Jaffna and resided in Scarborough, Canada.
Oh Leader who sowed the seeds of love,
Why did you forget to reap the harvest?
After sharing kindness and affection,
Why did you leave without waiting to see the fruit?
Though it’s been 31 days
Since you lived righteously on this earth
And ascended to the heavens,
The sorrow of your parting still doesn’t fade.
The path you showed us
Is a beacon of light to our lives!
The sweat of your hard work
Flows in our veins as blood!
Every eye is red with tears,
The clouds themselves weep as rain.
We pray to God
That your noble soul rests in peace.
At a time when we were deeply grieved by the passing of our beloved, many of you came in person, and others offered your condolences through phone calls, Facebook, e-mails, and RIPPAGE.
We, the family members, express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who comforted us, conveyed their sympathies, sent floral tributes and garlands, and to all our relatives, friends, and well-wishers who have extended their love, support, and assistance to us until this day.
