Mr. Rathinasamy Baskarsundharam

Mr. Rathinasamy Baskarsundharam, former Chief Chemist of the Valaichchenai Paper Mill, originally from Valvettithurai and residing in Valaichchenai and Colombo, passed away on Tuesday, 28th October 2025 in Colombo.

He was the youngest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rathinasamy Aathadapillai,

 and the elder son-in-law of the late Mr. and Mrs. Murugupillai Thaiyalnayaki.

He was the beloved husband of Mrs. Vimalendhrani,

and the loving father of Suganya (Switzerland), Nishaharan (Canada), and Vimalaharan (Colombo).

He was the affectionate uncle of Ravishankar (Switzerland), Sasikala (Canada), and Rathna (Colombo),

and the cherished grandfather of Asvini (Switzerland), Abina (Canada), Abina (Canada), Ratnika (Colombo), and Thiruneyan (Colombo).

He was the loving brother of the late Sivagnanasundaram, the late Kumarasundaram, the late Karmekasundaram, Nirthanasundaram (Colombo), the late Ganesasundaram, and Gnanambikai (Canada), Vijayambikai (Canada).

 He was also the dear brother-in-law of the late Saraswathi, Maheswari (Thondaimanaru), the late Lakshmidevi, Sundari, the late Nadesan, Susiladevi (Australia), Ponnusamy (Canada),

and the late Jeyasothivel, Nirmala (Valvettithurai), Shaktivel (Canada), Gnanavel (London).

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, 30th October 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at Mahinda Funeral Hall in Kalkisai, with the funeral rites at 4:00 p.m., followed by cremation at Kalkisai Dehiwala Cemetery.
