Mrs. Thangamani Ambalam

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Thangamani Ambalam, a retired teacher, who peacefully departed this world on 20th July 2025 in Canada. She was originally from Neduntheevu and was a permanent resident of 74/6 Aathichudi Street, Kandarmadam. Over the years, she also lived in Chennai (India), London, and most recently in Pickering, Canada.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Mr. Nagendrar and Mrs. Ramasipillai of Nerudhooley,
and the loving daughter-in-law of the late Mr. Thambipillai and Mrs. Annappillai of Neduntheevu West.

She was the devoted wife of the late Mr. Thambipillai Ambalam (former President of the Cooperative Society, former Village Council Chairman, Peace Judge of Neduntheevu, and Ceypetco Fuel Sales Agent).

She was the dear sister of the late Mr. N. Kumarasamy, Mr. A. Amirtham, Mr. T. Rasamani, and Mr. N. Maruthalingam.

She was the cherished mother of the late Mr. Sudhakaran, Mrs. Jayanthi (All Ceylon Peace Judge and Sri Lanka Freedom Party Jaffna District Organizer), Mr. Neminathan (Germany), Mrs. Nandini (Canada), Mr. Sivanandan (London), and Mrs. Sathyavani (Canada).

She was the respected mother-in-law of the late Mr. N. Paramalingam (TCS Bank), Mrs. Youvanakumari (Teacher), and Mrs. Yalini (London), Mr. Gunabalan (Canada).

She was the loving grandmother (Ammamma) of Tanuja (Germany), Thayenthira (Jaffna), Raghenthira (Jaffna), Mithusa, Sujatha, and Brinda (Canada), Gilmy (Colombo),

and the affectionate great-grandmother (Appamma) of Jobika (Colombo), Yaadhavi (London), Sachin (London), Subashkaran (Germany), and Umadevi (Jaffna).

She was also the great-grand aunt (Pootti) of Anusan, Dineshan, and Santhosh (Germany), Geba (Colombo), and Lakshayan (Jaffna).

She was the dearest aunt (Kunjiammal) to Vimaladevi Chandrasekarampillai (Colombo), the late Rajayogan, Chinna, and Ponnambalam (London), Ramanathan (London), Ananthi (London), the late Ratneswari, Vijayeswari (Canada), Yogeswari (Canada), Ravindranathan (Germany), Ketheeswari (Canada), and Suren.

She was the beloved sister-in-law of the late Po. Nallamma, Po. Manonmani, Th. Nagendran, Th. Kanmani, and Th. Kanagamani (retired teacher).

She was the dear aunt to Kamalarani, Vijaya, Bhuvinthiran, Nalayini (Neduntheevu), and Mano (Teacher).

She was the cherished mother-in-law of the late Bhuvanendrarajah, Rani (Neduntheevu), Logeswari (Neduntheevu), Amirtharajah (Mallavi), the late Vinayagamurthi, Veninayagi (London), Mahendran (Canada), and Manohari (Canada).

The final rites of the deceased will be held today in Canada.
