It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Thiyagarasa Gunabalalekchumi (Bhoomani), originally from Kanagaipuram, pungudutivu 10th ward, Jaffna, and a resident of Colombo and Canada. She peacefully passed away in Canada on Tuesday, 12th August 2025.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Velupillai Suppiah and Sellamuthu,

the loving daughter-in-law of the late Thampipillai Yogambikai (Sellamma) and Thampipillai,

and the devoted wife of the late Thampipillai Thiyagarasa,

She was the cherished mother of Arirajasingham (Jaffna), the late Valarmathi, Sasikala (Canada), Santhini (London), Goneswaran (Canada), and Yoganandan (Canada),

She was the dear sister of the late Kanes, the late Manonmani, Varathalekchumi (Jaffna), the late Kandhasamy, the late Kanagalingam, Mahadevan (Colombo), the late Saraswathy, Vadivel (Switzerland), and Nagalekchumi (Colombo),

She was the loving mother-in-law of Shanthi, Parthipan, Gnanachundaram, Bhanumathy, and Sathiyarani,

She was the beloved sister-in-law of the late Vadivambikai, the late Ponnampalam, the late Swaminathan, Yogambikai, Vijayalekchumi, the late Ranjanidevi, Navaleela, the late Sivarasa, the late Mangayarkarasi, the late Maheswari, Maragathavalli, the late Pathmanathan, Ilangainathan, Mangalaambal, and Parvathapathini,

She was the treasured grandmother of Prashanth, Seshan, Bharathi, Parkavi, Bhairavi, Sathujan, Thakshan, Vipooshana, and Abishek.
