It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Mrs. V.K. Somasundaram Sinnathangam, originally from Pungudutivu  Thattayampulapathy 10th ward, Jaffna later a resident of Pungudutivu 3rd ward, and most recently residing in Ajax, Canada. She passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, in Canada.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Theruvuchchivappi Naganathar Kanthiah & Chellatchi,

the loving daughter-in-law of the late Kanthiah Abiramipillai,

and the devoted wife of the late  V.K. Somasundaram (Justice of the Peace & Former Member of Jaffna District Development Council),

She was a cherished sister of the late Chellamuthu, Kumaresu, Muthamma, Ponnamma, Vallyamma, Sinnathurai (former businessman, Colombo Armour Street), 

She was the loving mother of Yasodadevi(Canada), Krishnakumari(Germany), Sachithananthan (Retired Grama Sevaka Officer), Sathananthan(Switzerland), Kathirgamanathan(Canada), Padmajadevi(Switzerland), Perinbanayagi(Switzerland), Vivekananthan(Canada), Lingendran(Switzerland), Letchumadevi(Switzerland),

and a beloved sister-in-law of the late V. Suppiah, Sinnamma, Sinnathambi (RMS Vallipuram), Sellathambi, Sellamma, Shanmuganathiyamma, V.K. Kumarasamy, V.K. Nallathambi (Sivaguru), Parasakthi, V.K. Subramaniam, 

and the cherished mother-in-law of late Bakiyanathan (Grama Sevaka Officer), Balasubramaniam, Mahalekshmi, Amirtharani, Kamalavadani, Dharmaraja, Padmanathan, Ranjini, Lingeswari, Mahendran,

She was a much-loved grandmother to Jegajeevan(Remax Blue Force Realty), Nijandhi, Priyatharsini, Sasikumar, Kugatharsini, Sivanesan, Jehananth(LAND KING), Senthoori, Srikkala, Prasannath, Mithula, Manuel, Sahana, Anishran, Shalini, Kavasger, Yuwani, Kapilsger, Darshika, Bhanushan(Royal Premium Cars), Praveena, Gayathri, Kanishran, Rathushan, Kajani, Mathura–Ratnesh, Sanjeev–Karthiga, Rajeev, Nitharsan, Nidharthan, Rathijan, Vithijan, Kesinth, Aruja, Arabi, Nirojan, Nadeesha, Rahul, Yathusha, Achchara, 

She was the beloved great grandmother of Akeera, Arjun, Sabeena, Sayana, Avika, Adhvika, Reena, Alisa, Prian, Mikan, Liyana, Milan, Sathvik, Hemanika, Avish, Riyanna, Thisan.

She was also the dear cousin of the late V.S. Maniam (Malaysia), the late Kamatchi & Pancharathinam (Canada), Nagarethinam, Kanageswari.
